'The King Of International Short Story Writing'
Reveals His Formula For Instant Success.

John Powell of Markethill Publishing explains:

Let me tell you a short story. It's not a romance, detective fiction or a mystery. It's a true story of a remarkable discovery.

It began when I visited an author in Scotland to discuss the publication of a book. When the deal had been struck, we sealed it with a glass of bubbly and some amiable chit-chat.

During the course of our light conversation the author, Patrick Quinn, asked if I'd ever heard of Drew McAdam, a short story writer. Since I've only ever published business books, I hadn't.

He went on to tell me of the extraordinary success of his friend Drew McAdam. It went like this.

Pat explained that Drew, a journalist and a highly accomplished illusionist, in fact a member of the prestigious Magic Circle, also had a love of writing fiction. His ambition was to break into the world of short story writing.

He soon discovered though, that it wasn't as easy as he'd imagined and like most new writers he amassed a fair collection of rejection slips.

He approached Pat for some advice, but although he is an author, Pat couldn't help much with the specialist skills needed to write and publish short stories.

Pat and Drew lost touch for several years, but when they met up again Drew's fortunes in the short story writing department had changed dramatically. He had now been nicknamed, 'The King of International Short Story Writing'.

He acquired that soubriquet because, in a 24 month period, Drew had sold 200 short stories for publication world-wide.

In case you thought that was a misprint I'll repeat it.

In a 24 month period Drew had sold 200 short stories for publication worldwide.

That's an incredible average of almost one story published every 3 and a half days. Happily rejection slips were a distant memory.

Naturally, Pat asked him how he'd achieved his new found status, to which Drew replied that he'd developed a cast iron formula that guaranteed success.

Drew had developed his formula for success, not by accident, but by years of trial, error and experiment. The rules he now applied to his writing made him the fiction editors' golden boy. He had discovered how to deliver exactly what they wanted.

The story, as far as you and I are concerned, might well have ended there. However, Drew had produced a manual for a small group of struggling writers and Pat had a copy. The last copy.

Pat asked me if I'd like to borrow the manual and, out of curiosity, I accepted. But since it was the very last copy, I kept it with me for the flight home, reluctant to trust the airline's baggage handling.

Settled in the cabin, I started flicking through the manual and was stunned. This was good, very good. But the flight was too short to fully appreciate the extent and thoroughness of the content. I had to wait until the following morning for a chance to sit down and study it properly.

As I read through the manual, my excitement grew. This was so much more than a formula, this was a step by step guide to writing best-selling short stories. It left no doubt that Drew was a master of the art.

The manual is an A to Z tutorial. From the initial approach to the fiction editor, through the writing process, and on to the finished manuscript.

Although my interest is in business books, this was far too good to put aside. I knew my company would love to publish it. With that in mind, I rang Pat and asked him if he would sound Drew out.

It turned out that Drew had now retired from short story writing to focus on his profession as a psychic entertainer and illusionist. Bookings for his performances were coming thick and fast, and there was just no time in his heavy schedule to continue writing fiction.

After all, he'd achieved all his writing goals and it was time to set new ones in another arena.

That was good news for you and me because, with a couple of altruistic conditions, (*with one important condition) Drew was prepared to sell me the copyright, allowing me to publish the manual as an e-book.

So, just how will this little gem help you to achieve your own ambitions?

Well, for A start, Drew takes you by the hand, blows away the dust and reveals everything you need to know to be a published short story writer.

He explains that a short story is a sort of conjuring trick, it looks incredibly clever if you don't know how the effect was achieved. However, once you know how it was done, it becomes simplicity itself.

With this manual, you can be within the top 10% of writers submitting manuscripts from day one. That's because editors discard 90% of manuscripts out of hand. Why? Because the story isn't right or the manuscript doesn't look right. Let me explain....
